Introducing the FPSpec Pro Multi-Way Remote Reservoir Ohlins for the FD3s - our ultra-long-stroke hybrid TTX and DFV with Remote Canister and TTX 2 way separate compression adjustment. Three-Way available upon request.
After many years of development, we are happy to announce our FPSpec Pro line of suspension! Featuring a custom-made remote reservoir with independent TTX-piston compression adjustment - we have opened up an entirely new level of performance tuning options. We've been working hard this past year in the background to engineer, test, and refine an even higher level two and three way remote canister Ohlins TTX / DFV hybrid shock that we are calling FPSpec Pro.
What we have accomplished is combining the highly effective DFV technology with a remote canister, and TTX compression stack on our custom remote cannister. This allows two-way independent compression adjustment, or an optional three-way independent high and low speed compression adjustment, with the normal rebound adjustment on the standard Ohlins DFV gold knob, all while retaining the revolutionary Ohlins Dual Flow Valve!
By moving the gas reservoir externally, instead of inline on the main shock body, it allows for additional physical volume for the nitrogen charge in the main shock body. In doing so it allows us to reduce the total gas pressure in the reservoir. What this equates to is a more plush ride for a given spring rate, all while preventing cavitation.
Another added benefit of moving the nitrogen chamber externally allows us to take advantage of the entire length of the main shock body. Typically the body is shared between the piston and the gas charge. With the gas charge now relocated off the main body, the piston now has more stroke per given damper length. Those familiar with our "Long Stroke" kits will know the benefit of extended shock travel, and this improves upon this one step further. By increasing the volume available in the main shock body also allows for more shock oil and surface area to dissipate heat.
This remote canister version of our FPSpec Pro shocks retains the Ohlins Dual Flow Valve (DFV) which is essentially a “damper within a damper”. This is some of the patented Ohlins technology, in addition to a temperature correction valve, ultra low hysteresis, low drag high durability seals, and more! The DFV literally is a separate piston stack to deal with ultra high speed damping and force blow off at ultra high velocities. Great on the track and street for the same reason, we can run higher spring rates compared to a non DFV shock without reducing ride quality and contact patch with the road, but also allow you to hit bumps mid corner without lifting, as the shock will blow off this additional high speed force, and go limp to absorb it versus transferring that force to the chassis and lifting the car off the pavement preventing you from sliding mid corner.
